In short: Fix your Meta spending limit before Black Friday, in October, not on the day. Check all three limits (Meta's daily spending limit, your own account spending limit and your campaign budgets), build trust with steady spend and clean payments now, and have a backup plan ready if the limit won't move.
Every year it's the same story. The client approves a big Black Friday budget, the creatives are ready, the offer is good... and on the day it matters, Meta caps the account at a number nobody planned for.
The thing is, your spending limit isn't something you fix in November. It's something you fix in October. Here's what we'd do now if we were you.
First, know which limit you're dealing with
People mix these up all the time, and they work differently:
- Daily spending limit (set by Meta). The cap Meta puts on the account based on how much it trusts it. You can't just change it in settings. We wrote a full breakdown of why your Meta daily spending limit won't go up.
- Account spending limit (set by you). A cap you or your team set on purpose. Easy to forget it's there until campaigns stop delivering on the busiest day of the year.
- Your campaign budget. Meta can spend up to 75% over your daily budget on a good day, but no more than 7x the daily budget across a week. So a budget spike on Friday can hit a cap you didn't think you were close to.
Check all three now. The account spending limit is the one that catches people out most, because it's so easy to fix and so easy to forget.
How to raise your Meta spending limit before Black Friday
Meta raises your limit when the account looks trustworthy, not when you ask nicely. What helps between now and November:
- Spend consistently. Steady, successful payments over weeks do more than one big jump. Start scaling budgets in October, not on 27 Nov.
- Keep payments clean. One failed charge in the next few weeks can set you back. Check the cards and billing on every client account now.
- Clean up disapprovals. A high rejection rate is a trust signal against you. Fix or remove rejected ads before Q4 traffic starts.
- Verify the business. If the business portfolio isn't verified yet, do it this month. It takes time, and it matters.
- Don't make big edits in Black Friday week. Budget jumps over about 20%, new creatives or targeting changes can send ad sets back into learning. Launch your BFCM ad sets early and let them settle.
What not to do
Don't open five new ad accounts in November hoping one of them gets a higher limit. New accounts start in the lowest trust tier, and a burst of new accounts from the same business is exactly the kind of pattern that gets flagged. It's also one of the warning signs we see before accounts get banned.
The backup plan if the limit won't move
If you're mid-October and the account is still stuck, you have three realistic options:
- Split spend across accounts that already have history. Only if they're legitimately set up for that client and already active.
- Lower expectations with the client now. Much better than explaining it on Black Friday afternoon.
- Run through agency accounts that already have trust behind them. This is what we do at Quority: your campaigns run on established agency accounts backed by our platform credit line, while your budgets stay prepaid. So you're not starting from zero in peak season.

Frequently asked questions
Can I ask Meta to raise my spending limit before Black Friday?
Not directly for the Meta-set limit. It's calculated from account trust signals. What you can do is improve those signals now: consistent spend, clean payments, fewer disapprovals and a verified business.
How long does it take for a Meta spending limit to increase?
It depends on the account. Usually it's weeks of consistent, clean spend, not days. That's why October matters more than November.
Will Meta spend more than my daily budget on Black Friday?
It can. Meta may spend up to 75% over your daily budget on a single day, but no more than 7x your daily budget across a week.
What happens if I hit my spending limit during Black Friday?
Your ads stop delivering until the limit resets or you raise it (if it's a limit you set yourself). On the busiest sales days, that can mean hours of lost revenue.
